New clutch slipping???

I finally replaced my stock clutch after 135k because it was slipping a little under full power.

I replaced it with a respected clutch that is supposed to be good for
450-500hp. I did so knowing I would never reach that and felt comfortable that it would hold what power I had.

The clutch just started slipping under full power and it has less than 2k on it(XZT on the top setting). Its only doing this when I'm pulling my trailer of less than 6k, basically the only time the truck gets driven. Its slipping ALOT worse than my high mileage STOCK clutch was under the exact same situation

I would like to hear some suggestions as to whats causing this. I didn't send in my warranty information in the time specified so I'm probably out there. I've only had it for 2mos though.

Don't want to start a brand war so I'm not gonna give that up. Like I said, its a respected clutch. I'm sure the name is familiar with just about everyone on this board.

I don't want a brand war either cause I know that if it wasn't a south bend everyone would say it's crap but I also know that peter would help you out on this. So I would call whom ever makes it and see if they stand behind there product. How about you give us more info on it like is it a double disc, 6cb, 12cb, organic or not, do you have or need upgraded hydralics? This kind of info may help out.

It could have been installed wrong, or something in the clutch linkage is hanging up and not letter the clutch fully engage.

Its a single disc, organic/feramic clutch. I'm 110% sure there is not an issue involving the installation.

Talk to the manufacturer. If its a southbend, Peter will treat you right. If its a Valair, Dan will also treat you right. When I was helping another member out with his clutch issue (no fault of the clutch, BTW), we were able to get a hold of Dan on a Saturday morning. Thats hard to beat! If its another brand (LUK, centerforce, etc), call them, hopefully they have the customer service of the other two companies.

I had the flywheel turned and it was double checked before install. I'm sure the rear main is not leaking. Its the part that-**It only slips with my 6k trailer in tow with full power that baffles me**. I will say that I've had 2 mechanics drive the truck and they commented that the clutch felt a little high. Other than that they couldn't tell of any issues.

So is it agreed that I'm not overpowering the clutch?
Thanks for the replies.

I'm need to replace my stock clutch after only 30k miles on my 07 6.7. I'm really curious what brand your having trouble with and how they resolve it.

If they thought it was a little high, I would double check the slave cylinder. It really does sound to me like the clutch is not reaching full clamping force.
