Needle Valve Question
So after installing my new lift pump and fuel filter i was wondering about my needle valve on my fuel pressure gage line its unscrewed about a 1/4 turn could the valve be on too tight and cause a difference of fuel psi? I have great fuel pressure now but i was wondering if i should adjust my needle valve to the new lift pump.
- shouldn't need to worry about it TOO much, I closed mine down, and backed it out about .125 turns - as long as you're reading fuel pressure and have no hint of pulsing in the gauge, you should be okay
ya theres a tiny tiny tiny bit of pulsing in it now that i messed with it so I am goin have to go over to my folks since there the closet to me with out driving 40miles and have my dad turn it down tell it stops see what i get for messing with things LOL
It's almost impossible to shut it down too far. Mine is so closed off it just barely burps when key is turned on and takes 3-4 sec to get to full psi reading after startup. I actually have to open it a 'tad' when cooler weather comes.
This setting has allowed a bouncing, rattling, dying gauge from 3 yrs ago to survive...so far.
Less is definately more (better). If it will fall to zero after shutdown...it's not shut down too far!
