Bypass for Walbro

I just went to the Glacier site to order a GDP Bypass Valve and they are out of stock on it. Is there somewhere else where this bypass valve can be purchased?

Ive searched and searched and havent found one like what glacier uses. I called that new walbro kit company AFS, and he doesnt have any seperate to sell either. He said his is made by Simflo. Searched the internet and the Simflo co I found never heard of it. So maybe its a different Simflo.

Im still searching. Seems like a simple valve. Glacier said he wanted $70 for the valve seperate.

Keep us updated on that. I was looking around their site and couldn't find one either. What about a regular pressure regulator from somewhere like Summit or Jegs? A lot of them have a bypass return to the tank, and you'd be able to fine tune the pressure........?

The regular fuel pressure regulators at Summit are all meant for carbureted engines and they regulate the pressure to around 7psi, too low for our needs.

Mallory 4307M is adjustable from 4-25 psi and has a bypass. If you shop around you can get it for around $80.

If you are looking for a picture of the simflo regulator check out www.wideopendiesel.com/page8.html. It is toward the bottom of the page.

That's good to know, I had no idea that AFS were offering the regulator on its own ... good stuff!

I checked out wideopendiesel too and their prices seem more reasonable than Glacier's. Glacier is definitely pricey.

I was wondering if the Simflo regulator worked well and had the capacity to handle the output of the LP. Would someone confirm that they have used the Simflo regulator and have had good results with it. Thanks.

I am using it with much success. It is adjustable and easily handles the flow from the Walbro.

Try this site. www.swagelok.com When Superduty was around this is what he used. I run the one from Glacier but this was my next option.

I used a Hilborn checkvalve for the bypass. I called and asked them to preset it to 15lbs. It comes with a couple of shims so you can tweak it.

Jim,

Where do you have the Mallory mounted and what pressures are you seeing?
