Need some 2nd gen info

Hey guys, don't see this area often. I just gave my bro inlaw my old Isspros since i got some new ones. He has a 2001 Sport dually 2wd with a SO and 47re. He just replaced the pump with a upgraded pump, so far its showing 13psi at idle. He's looking for the best box for low egts, towing, and a moderate power increase, say 60hp. Would this be safe with his 47re? He services his truck regularly and he doesn't drive crazy or anything, he's just looking for a little extra response. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Oh and he has a FP gauge, pyro, boost, and tranny temp gauges.

Rick

Edge EZ is a good box for a small power increase. That was the first thing I put on mine when I started. Rated for 65hp, it has three settings to control when the fuel comes on.

I think Quad also has some boxes that have similar ratings, but I don't have any experience with them.

As for the 47RE, you can't throw much power at them without doing some work, especially with towing. It may stand up to the EZ, but it's not guaranteed.

Any other suggestions guys, from experience? What works the best for Mpgs, towing and the safest for a 47re?

I have the VA but that's no longer available. I'm trying the Quad max mileage now , seems to give the same mileage (about 14-) with less chance of ripping up the transmission. But I'd like to get close to 15mpgs. I'm thinking of returning the Quad and trying the Edge M max. I'd like to try the XZ up date but then I'm stuck with it whether I like it or not; and all I want really is increased mileage not power.
This all with the camper.
