Well, I work on trucks for a living, and if the 3850 pedal pressure isn't any worse than a tractor trailer, or hopefully a little better, I think I can deal with that. Do the sprung hubs hold up ok?

 

I've heard up to 300K miles, without total abuse of course.

Just like any wear item though, brakes for some people might last like 7500 miles, others can get years of service.

 

3250 here & love it. I tow daily & pulled a few sleds with no problems at all. Pedal pressure feels just like my brothers stock truck, but a little more grabby with a load.

 

I have a 3850 and don't mind at all.
The pedal pressure honestly does not feel much worse than my little S10.
My only trouble is that it got a 'little' hot after about 50 3rd gear 4wd launches from 4000rpm. It chatters a little bit now, but only if I try to launch slowly. If I just let it out relatively fast in 2nd it really does not feel too bad.

I had it all out this spring when I shattered 3rd gear.



It held this load no problem even after all that damage:


There was plenty of meat left on the pucks.
