If its an auto youll kill it quicker with a plate. Theyre junk in stock form.
Gauges are a must so you can watch EGT/boost. Anything over 35 psi is just blowing hot air and making EGT. Anything over 1400 is molten aluminum if left long enough.
Your best bang for the buck right now is the plate, the AFC and the governor springs. Search around and you can find the upgrade kits online.
Id stick with the stock plate and move it back for now. When youre ready you can grind it to a 100.

when i ran plateless i got: turbo lagg (dumping fuel into the engine) loss of tuning(nothing to hold the fuel back so it can be put in at the right time), high egts and bad mpg (again fuel dump). sure there was a power gain but not enough to justify all the b/s that went with it. so if you want that go right ahead if not use the plate, afc, and star wheel as tuning tools to get the fuel to come in at the right time for your combination. youll be better off. Dont do anything w/o gauges and an exhaust. once you either grind the stocker or buy a new plate. dont look at fuel any more till you look at your air problem (turbo) you need to bring the boost up through either plugging the wastgate or using a boost elbow (adjustable would be better)
