Ok last saturday my truck on the way home started surging a little at first when I would put on the throttle then gradually got worse within my ten minute drive, hitting harder and harder the further I drove, then the last 100 yards before I got home it just lit and started eating, had my foot on the brake and it was just pushing, no go pedal at all.... now I just replaced the map sensor, no luck, and also the apps has been replaced also, but I bought a cheap one off of a diesel parts guys on ebay. It also has 130 hp no name injectors that the guy before me put in the truck. Need help she is parked until I can get fixed.

No it is not sticking at all, it just hits spots where the engine surges faster by a couple hundred rpm, I can sit in park and rev to 1500 rpm and it will do it sitting still, it kinda flares. I unhooked the map sensor and it does it really bad at idle just all sorts of rough and wants to rev up on its own. Could this be the ecm on the side of engine?

Only codes I can get to come up are for overboost, usualle have powerpuck hooked up for boost fooler, and my wastegate has 2 tighter springs on it, and then the map sensor voltage to low. 0230 0234 0237 and no the engine light is not on that I can remember.

could be bad apps,bad ecm bad vp or corroded connections .also did you try and unhook the power puck?

i had the issue with all the lights. took it to dealer they said bad ecm.

took it home and unplugged edge ez. works great now. bad edge ez.

Yeah I unhooked the puck ac ouple days before, it made my truck go into limp mode.

I would day faulty ECM. Had the same thing happen to my employees truck. Tryed APPS first but didnt fix it. Something shorted internal and was feeding the signal wire with the constant 5v.

ok thanks, so where is the best place to get the best deal on a new ecm then? Any particular things to know when buying a new ecm?

car-parts.com is a search engine for bone yards all over the US. Also any 98.5 - 2002 will work you just have to flash it for your specific year and trans. Cummins can do flashes cheaper than dodge. Also you can do it with a smarty if you now someone who works on them they can email it load it on the smarty and be done.
