Need advice on setup
Hi Im looking for a good set up on my truck which I use mostly for play and rarely towing. The truck is a 96 5 speed with a 215 pump. So far it has a #0 plate, star wheel full forward, HTT III HX 35/40 14w/g , K&N cone filter, SBC Con ofe and Rips 5 inch exhaust on the way. I was wonderin what a good set up would be. Should I get a BHAF? I already made the template for a project in school. Any others to consider? Should I do a GSK? 3K or 4K? Injectors? 300s, 370s? Where should I set timing? Is there anything ive left out or havent thought of?
Thanks Adam
Thanks Adam
For your setup
Timing definately at 17 or higher, 16 MINIMUM.. u have a really agressive setup, the 370s should provide a better fuel flow than anything else u have for that turbo you are running, the five inch is a good choice.. Since this is gonna be your play toy, if you wanna run twins or make some serious high power, then the 4K is up your alley. Wider powerband than the 3K more ideal for spooling large turbos..
Best of luck and welcome to DTR!!

Yes to the GSK witch one is up to you how fast you want to spin it. 370s are hot but you mite have enough turbo to keep EGTs down. with a 215 pump timing around 16 should work, you dont want to go to high.
