My truck went crazy all on it's own !!!!!!!!!

I started my truck the other morning it was about 15f. It started fine went in to high idle and then 3 cyl shut down for about 5 min than all of a sudden the truck reved up 3 times just like some one was in it pushing on the gas I flew out the door to see if one of my friends was messing with me but no one there. I went back in to finish getting ready idled up again like there was nothing wrong. Went out got in the truck and hit the brake engine went to normal idle pushed the clutch in put it in gear and pushed the pedel to go and nothing. After hitting the pedel there was a 5 sec delay and it would rev up on its own. So I left in another ride and returned about 4 hrs later it warmed up out side to about 28 deg so i figuared let me try it again. Started the truck let it warm up a bit mashed the pedel and all is fine been driving it ever since with no problems. Has any one herd of this or had it happen to them.

If the VP was going bad dont you think I would have problems with it running all of the time.

Who no's whats going on with it I just got home from driving it or should I say playing with it for about an hour and i realy was not easy on it, runs perfect like it always does. Just had that one glitch a week or so ago, you no its funny to me if had replaced my VP every time some one said it is going out I would have replaced it a dozen time, If it dies I guess I'll walk over that bridge when I get there If it does kick the bucket I thinking about P pumping it,

mine would run good some time and then fall flat on its face, i could cycle the key and the truck would run fine, like normal, little did i realize while i was thinking crazy electrical problem i was cooking my vp44...i carried on this routine for 6 months before mine layed down on me...then installed a gauge and a better lp (fass) after spending 2k on a new lp and vp44
