I installed a Summit turbo back 4 inch exhaust, sounds great, But I have a major drone from 2100-2400 RPM. Dynomax has a 4 inch muffler for about $120.00 but can't be sure it will stop the drone. Banks only sell a stainless muffler for over 300 but they say it will stop the drone. Anyone using the dynomax or another muffler that will stop the drone for around $100.00. Thanks

We have sold a lot of mufflers to folks that have purchased the Summitt, Jegs, etc systems as their muffler looses it's packing materials pretty quick, in fact some of them don't have any material at all to start with. Our muffler is available as aluminized or 409 stainless and it's lot less than what you were quoted by Banks and we have a lot of them on 12 and 24 valve trucks without drone. Ask around here and other sites for info about it.

Thanks I ordered my MBPR muffler from Diesel Performance Parts yesterday. Thanks for the reply. If I would have checked here first I could have got the whole system from you guys and been way ahead. When I wear this truck out in 10-15 years and get my new Dodge I'll get the upgrades from you to start with. Thanks again!!

 

Jes' fer kicks, temporarily add enough tailpipe to get the exhaust completely out from under the truck then see if it drones. Mine got real quiet while it was on the sniffer.

 

whats wrong with drone? ...u went straight pipe (good thing) and now u wanna put a muffler on?( copping out..boooooo)....
