Talking Mod's and MPG

The truck went to the shop tonight (Bakers Diesel, UT) for some mods.

hi flow air filter
fuel filter
valve adjustemt
timing adj
# 10 torque plate
3000GSK
trio of gages

He is going to set the plate 30,000 from full forward for some more aggressive driving. (Might be looking for an upgrad in tranny latter this year)

I just wondering what will happen to my MPG. It got a solid 20+MPG on my trip to CO and OH last week not pull'n any load.

Anyone care to guess what will happen?? I'll give you a good at-a-boy if your right

I'll report back after a few tanks of gas, I'm sure my foot will be in it for the first tank or so, just so I can feel the power.

Cheers,
Ron

By the way, I had my new 600 QC short bed with me pulling my 5er on the same trip to CO (Had to drop a Corvette engine off to a friend).

I started pulling with 500 miles on her and got 7.5MPG pulling around 10k lbs.

I finished the trip with 4300 miles on her and she got a best of 10.5 MPG on the return from Ohio. She went down to 9.0 in WY with some cross winds and high altitude.

My 12V was getting around 14.5 pulling the same trailer

Oh, I always add 5 MPH to the speed limit so I was tacking around 2200rpm most of the way.

The MPG sucks but man does she pull!!

Cheers,
Ron

The fuel mileage should increase if you drive the same as before. You won't

every thing i have done has improved mileage under same conditions and speed. the only thing i have found that changes mileage is the smoke screw. it can change as much as 2 mph in stop and go traffic.
