Mileage Limit before starting to bomb?
Is there any specific mileage limit before starting to bomb a Cummins? I know they last forever, but would it be wise to install a twin setup on a 200k+ mile truck, for example? Thanks.
Chris

GO4LO:

I would not be too concerned about the miles on a
Dodge CTD with reference to when you begin
BOMBING one.

As long as the truck has had good maintenance
(oil changes, valve adjustments etc.) and the
truck is not using oil I really don't think you have
to worry.

One point about twin turbos..............
If you do this be sure you set-up the twins with
some type of wastegate as the high drive pressures
and boost will definitely blow the headgasket!

--------
John_P

Re:Mileage Limit before starting to bomb?
Thanks for the advice, John. I'm currently trying to make up my mind between a new '03 (which I wouldn't bomb much for warranty's sake) and a used '97/'98, which would get a full twin setup. Enterprise Engine is about 2.5 hours from me, and I'd be having them do all the work on the twins, if I go that route.
Chris
