Max boost on hx35/40 hybrid?

I believe I am spinning mine a little fast. Right now it will hit 45-48lbs with a 16cm2 housing. I am swapping to an 18cm2 very soon. If the turbo is spinnign too fast with a non wastegated housing, what can you do to lower boost pressures?

Thanks

Put some pop-off's on that puppy.

That's the only way I know how to control boost without a wastegate.

Maybe if you ease up on the peddle some. I've got almost the same mods except for the dv's and mine seems to stop around 45psi. Looks like you've simply moved out of the small single turbo range with you're truck. Sure is fun thou is'nt it!

The easiest way to control boost is to put on a wastegated housing. The 14cm wg housing will give a little better spoolup and if you setup your wastegate properly you should be at 35-40lbs of boost while at the same time getting rid of alot of drive pressure which will cause high egt.

he could sell his turbo for $400-500, and take the $400 that a 14cm gated housing would cost him and wrap that up towards a better turbo... that's what I would do... even if it was just a PDR-40

Well eventually I am going to get a bigger turbo. I am trading someone for the housing so I am not spending any money. Does this seem like a lot of fuel for a 160 pump? I figured before I did the setup since these are small injector pumps that I wouldnt have much of an egt problem with the little fuel I could push. I would like to build twins or find a used b1 or something of that nature but that is in the future.
