Lukes Link

Now I know there are a lot of topics on the this but I wanted your guys oppinion for my situation. Here goes...

Alright, I just had my left upper and lower ball joints replaced as well as the left outer tie rod. Before all this the steering was kinda tight but the joints and tie rod were really bad. BUT now that I have all the new stuff on it is definately a lot looser and it kinda wonders a little. So would the lukes link fix this? How does it work?

Also now my steering wheel is not straight, its like sideways when your driving straight down the road so what can I do to fix that because its really bothering me.

What do you guys think about everything? Is the lukes link worth it in my case since I had all this stuff replaced or do I need a new tracking bar and all that?

THANKS GUYS

And this wasnt cheap :'(

Re:Lukes Link

I believe I would take it back to the place that "fixed" it and have them straighten it out....at no cost to you.

Re:Lukes Link

Well I just got an alignment and it straightened the wheel out and stuff but should I get the lukes link anyway cause its still a little loose? Will that tighten it so there isnt so much play in the steering?

Re:Lukes Link

What do you call too much play in the steering? A quarter turn? 1/8 turn?

Re:Lukes Link

Probably about 1/4 a turn of play. Then it just wanders on the road when your driving straight. So should I get the Lukes Track bar and the Lukes link or what? Or is it just the links for the tracking bar? I am so confused, I just want it fixed!!!! Thanks

Oh yeah I just realized I put this in the third generation and I have no idea why because my truck is a 98. Sorry for the confusion!

Or should I get this:

http://www.solidsteel.ca/Stabilizer.htm

or

http://www.dtprofab.com/dodge.htm

or

DSS (Darin Steering Stabilizer)

Re:Lukes Link

Hey dude,<br><br>I have a 97 CTD 2500, and I have the same problem with steering wander. I put the lukes link on (around $70) and for an additional $8 get the other bushing end piece. Just visit www.lukeslink.com, get the number, call, and ask Luke for LukesLink plus additional $8 piece. The lukesLink is a piece that you attach to the end of your current trac bar. Instead of spending around $300 for a new junk stock one, you can spend $70 and have the lukes link installed. For the other end you will need a press to attach.(Ask luke, he'll know what you mean) About 1 hour to 1 1/2 hour labor charge (if you bring it to a mechanic). The lukes link is great for side to side steering handling cornering, etc. I love it!! And it will last a long time since it is adjustable, But as for the steering wander, I have yet to try anything to expensive to fix mine. My steering has a lot of play when turning side to side at any speed. I blame it on the steering box, steering stabilizer, and steering linkage, etc.<br><br>Dodge just messed up on the front end, but I still love Dodge.<br><br>Get this <br>http://www.solidsteel.ca/Stabilizer.htm <br>( I am soon ) and also look for an after market steering box. I don't know if they make them.<br><br>As for now I am living with a loose steering wheel, but my truck is great with everything else. Most parts are Original on my truck except for Tranny, Lukes Link, ball joints, U-joints, oil sensor, shocks, and gas sensor.
