Is a 12v louder than a 24v or are they the same? I drove a 24v and it was quieter inside than my 97 powerstroke.

 

Mine is. TDR magazine did a comparison and the '98.5 and '99's came out the loudest. The comparison of you Ford is that the turbo and down tube from the exhaust is directly against the upper firewall of your cab and the engine noise is coming straight in the drivers compartment. We have them at work and I can't stand to drive them for this reason along with the clutch pedal throw that is unique to a Ford in that it will distroy your knee! :'(
