Re:Loose Steering Fix

My truck suffers from the "loose steering" problem. I will be the first to admit that I have no idea what causes it. I installed a Luke's Link on the trackbar which seemed to help a little bit. Exactly what does this guy's device do to help with the sloppy steering?

Re:Loose Steering Fix

My uncle had this problem and it was the steering shaft itself. The one that comes out of the firewall to the box. It was replaced under warranty. It seems to wear at the slip yoke. Mine also has this problem.

Mike

There is always this place.

http://www.borgeson.com/

My complete kit, (shaft, coupler) was around $200. One of the better investments for my truck. Took care of the wonder steer all together.
Re:Loose Steering Fix

DieselDave
I think it takes out all the play from the pittman arm shaft coming out of the steering box. It looks like it bolts to the frame under the swaybar mounts. I've never seen it before but it looks like some guys are pretty happy with it. I guess it'd all depend on how much slop you have in your pittman shaft.

Re:Loose Steering Fix

I like the concept but I already ahve a front mount receiver hitch on the truck that uses the sway bar mounting holes. this probably won;t go on then.

Don

It looks like a good piece of gear to have, but I also have the front receiver hitch.

Mike

Re:Loose Steering Fix

Sounds like it's just what I need, but I have the snow plow mount frame. I've contacted them to see if it will work for me. BTW, the Borgeson steering shaft, and new Moog track bar have done little to correct my steering wander.

Re:Loose Steering Fix

Has anyone purchased this fix, and has it cured the wander?
