Logical BOMB path?
Logical BOMB path?
I didn't "plan" on doing anything to my truck but put fuel and oil in it, you guys are of questionable influence. I will have gauges soon, then I would like to slowly, mildly upgrade my truck. My goal is to not need a new turbo and not make the stock clutch slip. I have a BHAF currently, my next planned upgrade is a 4" exhaust. After that I was thinking either F1 Mach 1's or 1.5's or Edge box. Assuming I will run with the stock clutch until I need a new one, I then plan on replacing it with something that can hold some more power. Since I am on a budget that will only let me do one thing at a time, should I get the box first or injectors, since I have an HO engine? I was thinking that if I get the box, I should get a Comp and leave it untapped until I get a new clutch. I have been told that the 1.5's would probably be too much if I want to stay with the stock clutch for a while.
My thinking is this (after exhaust): Mach 1's, then Comp (untapped), fry my clutch, new clutch that will hold more, tap the wire, then later upgrade to Mach 1.5's.
Does this seem logical?
At what point should I consider doing a fuel system upgrade?
Thanks,
~Rob

just my opinion, skip the box for now,get some big injectors.like 100-150hp,then when your used to that try a comp untapped, and if thats not enough tap it,no sense buying 2 sets of injectors.the bombing is a bug that wont go away so go big then you wont do it twice.i put in 130hpxxx injectors with a van aaken 65hp box and my clutch is doing ok.you get used to the power fast and always want more{its a guy thing i guess}do some searching and ask others, tell us what your looking for and we can help.
I remember saying the same thing three years ago. Just a fueling box. Maybe a set of injectors. Maybe twins...When you get a vehicle that you can run year round, pull anything on wheels, do all that and get decent fuel mileage, why not bomb. Make you wonder who is buying gas power vehicles. A hybrid gas vehicle can barely match the fuel mileage of diesel powered car. On top of that you can burn bio-fuel, forget fossel fuels.
IMHO you should upgrade the fuel system first, at least a big line kit from Scotty as the stock system pukes out enough LPs and VPs as it is without asking it to do more. Since gauges are in your sig your ready to make the upgrades you see fit. Dont waste your money on small injectors or you will be in the same boat as me within a year, saving for bigger sticks, get at least 3s or 4s. With that injector you have two routes to choose from that many have had good luck with. 1: fueling box such as a Comp or TST or 2: one of Marcos new ECMs either way you will be all
How long your cluch lasts all depends on how fast YOU kill it not the BOMBs
