Shift left logical
Shift left logical
Have an 03 6spd with a BD short shifter. Have any of you jacked around with moving the shifter to the left, say, the width of a hand? Seems to me the **** is about 4" too far to the right in stock position. Not sure if the shaft is cast, hollow, peuter, or what. I do know that a heating torch would make short order ot that vulcanized rubber cushion on the bottom of the shifter shaft. Ideas? Besides buying a new one in case I mullow the original?
It's easy to lift the boot, a couple of screws in the cup holder, then undue the long shift lever shaft. It's connected to a short shaft coming out of the transmission. Now with the long shaft out, you can bend it anyway you want.
Good luck I installed the short shifter in mine, that's why I know this.
