Lift pump replacment. What are my options?

From what I've heard in my other thread, the lift pump may be in need of replacement on my 98. I've got 5 PSI at WOT and that is boarderline from what I understand. If I don't want to replace it with an OEM or equivalent unit, what are my aftermarket options and what do I need to spend? I don't care to spend a little extra if I need to in order to eliminate a potential future problem.

Are most of these lift pump replacements a bolt on item? Is the factory lift pump electric or mechanical?

Thanks.

Conn

If you want to ditch the stock lift pump check out the FASS and FASS II systems. Many around here are very happy with them.

if that's too pricey there are other options

$240 total for the new LP and Vulcan relocation kit (with larger fuel line and no banjo bolts). I never see below 12 psi. The kit is complete and easy to install.

I love my FASS II. 21psi @ idle, 19psi @ cruise, 16psi @ WOT.

The chrysler conversion to an in-tank pump is another good option. Part number 5175538AA. Should run you about the same as what another lift pump would run and take about the same time to install. Kit come complete with everything needed to make the conversion. Any dealer can get this for you.

crap. i was wanting to pick up a Comp Drag box soon, but I guess I need to address the fuel problem first. I'm sure adding the box would suck the PSI down to almost nothing.

Thanks rjohnson, I could not think of or find the right webpage. Piers was the closest I could find.
