Leaking #2 at Bottom of lift pump!
Leaking #2 at Bottom of lift pump!
Well with the price of this stuff, this leak at the bottom of my Areomotive lift pump is starting to get expensive. Right now it is a pretty constant drip, one every second well say. Usually once the pump heated up it would stop leaking, but its pretty cold here right now (20*) and its constantly leaking now. There is a cap with a gasket and three screws, tried tightening the screws and twisted one off, but they were all loose. Can I pull that bottom cap off run a bead a sealant put the 2 remaining screws back in? I could try to send it back to summit but I think when I twisted that screw off inside the pump I kinda screwed my warranty.
Any ideas would be great.

I had the areomotive pump on my vette first and the impeller went up. Sent it back to areomotive and they fixed it for free. Then my carter went up so I put the areo on my truck. It worked good but it was loud and the pressures would constantly vary from 18 to 22 psi, it kind of got on my nerves. The temps dropped here to around 30 degrees and it started to leak, snugged up the screws and it still leaked. Called areo and they said when the temps drop the viscosity of the fuel changes and it leaks from the impeller shaft seal. I considered making my own gaskets but I just didn't feel like the pump was reliable enough so I bought the afs big dog kit with the walbro pump and love it, quiet and adjustable. Hope this helps..
Well Ill just pull it off and buy some liquid gasket and a quality sealant, pull the cap off, run a bead then put it back on, if something goes wrong I may just put in a autozone 7psi pump, I think it should fit right it as long as it has 3/8" female fittings. That would also bring my fuel pressure down from 24psi @ idle to 20ish @ idle. Which would be fine because all I have now is a Drag Comp in EZ mode.
Thanks for the help
