Keyless Entry and Alarm

Alright guys, I'm getting sick of not having keyless entry so I'm looking for a good reasonabley priced keyless entry system. Now I don't need the alarm but I haven't found a keyless entry kit that doesnt have the alarm built into it so I guess I get a bonus. So what aftermarket kits are you guys using and what do you think about them?

Can't go wrong with anything by DEI.
(Directed Electronics Inc.)

Makers of the Viper, Python, Clifford to name a few.

They have everything from basic basic, to more bells and whistles than you'd ever want.

I agree with phox, go with a DEI product. One of the best in the market. Also, they make their products very user friendly and simple to install. If you have any electrical installation knowledge, installing one of their products will be a breeze. Good luck.

I put a Viper in my old '96. If it does not have power locks, then a few more relays ($) are needed. I also added the lift alarm feature - if the vehicle is lifted the alarm goes off. Intended to foil those guys dragging the vehicle onto a flatbed. Of course, there has to be someone around that cares that the alarm is sounding..

Does anyone have any idea who manufactures the alarm system for the '04s or it it a straight DECLO product.

Tks Mr. B.

I believe it would.

You could also have the Dealer run your VIN, get a printout of what options it had at delivery.

I don't see prices on this website but I like the products. Am I not looking hard enough?

I couldn't find prices either.

I just called around till I found a place that carried them, and asked what models they had.

Or, just plug the name and model number into your favorite search engine.
Many many online retailers to choose from.

I've installed this $30 keyless remote on several rigs, works great. Have had one in my own rig for five years, remotes are still on the same batteries, and working fine!
Hardest part of the install is finding the right wires in the bundles under the dash, they're wrapped together tight and hard to separate.

Hey Bill,

I had that same one on my 94. The only issue that I ever had was the unlock button wore out on the remote after about 12 months. I had to solder a new one in there and it was fine.

brandon.

I put one in my daughter's Accord, worked great but she said sometimes when she pushed the unlock button in a parking lot she would hear a beep-beep coming from other cars as their alarms disarmed. Said that she never came back to find her own doors unlocked, guess that's all that matters!
