Aftermarket Alarm/Keyless Entry
Does anyone have any experience with any aftermarket alarm/keyless entry systems? Is there a factory add-on module connector?
Re:Aftermarket Alarm/Keyless Entry
rattle_rattle,
I had an aftermarket keyless/alarm put on my '02 by Ultimate Electronics. It is a Python (part of DEI). I can't remember off the top of my head what the model is, but I am very happy with it. Can't remember if they charged me extra because of multiplex wiring or not. Can look at my receipt when I get home later. Not sure what you mean by factory add-on module connector. If it needed one, Ultimate must have had it right there, because they installed it on the spot.

I have the compustar remote start/alarm/keyless entry/turbo timer and remote pager. This also has many other features such as, you can take your key out of ignition and truck will keep running(will shut down if pedals are touched) then put the key back in and away you go. ;D No more waiting to shut down if just running in somewhere. 8)

I have had a Black widow installed for a few years now. Had the remote started added last year. I really haven't been too happy with the system. I blow fuses once in a while when the started gets confused with the remote lock. Left my keys in the truck with the remote in my pocket and the fuse blew and was locked out.(won't do that again). Maybe the newer sustems are better but not mine. If you really want I can look up the model number.

With the problems you have had, I don't think I'll be needing any more information on that one.
