Keyless entry and water

so my key and keyless entry got submerged for atleast 5mins in the lake last weekend...and to my surprise it worked as soon as it was brought to the surface!

All of you need to get some DI water and wash those key fobs out real quick like. If you don't the salt water will corrode the electronics and cause all sorts of havoc. The only word of caution is to make sure you allow the key fob to dry out completely after you wash it out.
Before your fob and or chipped key decides to go south on you, I would buy one off of E-Bay, just make sure you get the correct frequency as listed on the back of the key fob. As far as the chipped key, it takes 2 keys already programmed to the truck to program another one. If you loose one of your keys, then only way to programm another one is to have the dealer do it a big cost premium.
