Just got back from the DHRA event in Houston!

I just got back from the DHRA drag and truck pull in Houston and was it frickin awesome! I saw diesels go faster than I have seen anything go. There was a dragster there that went 197 mph with a 12valve cummins in it and an orange 70 something chev 1/2 ton with a b series cummins that ran in the 9's Haisley machine had their dodge pro puller there "off constantly " it was a pulling demon. The turbos were the biggest I've ever seen on anything. They also had that ford with a modified powerstroke that they installed inline injection pumps on. That thing had giant turbos on it too. I thought that the inline pumps and the different turbos would make it sound like a real diesel, but it still sounded like a junky powerstroke, turbo whine aside. There were alot of guys that had some pretty powerful street trucks pulling there, dodge that is. It was a little embarrassing but the duramaxes were kicking the cummins butts on the race track. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. Did anyone else go? Joseph

I went and it was awesome, I thought the 70's chevy had a duramax in it. And ya duramax was killing it on the track I was a little disappoited about that. I don't know which way you left but we went down I 10 and the road was blacked out for miles from exhaust smoke, it was awesome

I may be wrong, It sounded like a cummins to me but every time I got close to it, it was moving. Sorry about that. It was an incredible event though. I had a great time. It was nice to be at an all diesel event.
