Cool Just bought some 47re upgrades........

I finally decided to "plan" my 47re upgrade before I really "need" it......using eLayaway. A local shop here in Spokane (Diesel Power Products) had a deal on the following:

1. BD Single Disk Low Stall Converter $1092.95 (no core!)

2. BD Valve Body $ 598.75 (100.00 core)

3. BD Deep Sump Pan $ 237.50

Total with tax was $ 2096.55 which I plan to pay off in about 6 months.

I hope the low stall option was what I need....mostly daily driving. My 2002 47re doesn't slip at all yet but I have put 9 easy years on it and only occasionally get into it with the Edge and Smarty turned up. Also I read with the triple disc you need in the input shaft and flex plate upgrade. I plan too hit no more than 500hp some day with injectors, a turbo and studs. Did I buy the right stuff? Has anyone used eLayaway? I think this was smart as now I have a "plan" for my upgrade.

Oh yeah....with the above tranny upgrades I should be able to Dyno and occasionally get into it without too much worry huh?

Any feedback appreciated!

Tom

I would think forthe same or less you could have a tripple lock, I had a single it held upto my mods but I did break a flex plate.
I would also get the billet strut/anchor,sometimes they come with the VB, if they dont get them from someone. i'd get a flexplate before a deep pan, trust me it sucks dropping the tranny to swap out a plate, and if it runs too long after breaking it will chew up the snout on the TC, which in turn might cause you to have to buy another TC

my two cents

I have a single disk Suncoast that has held up to my abuse!! I didn't go with the valve body- might work better with it, but just the 'verter has made a HUGE difference.

i hope those are installed prices. a triple disk is better and for 1050$ you could get a goerend billet triple! for 600$ a single disk add 100$ for a billet cover and if you ever want to upgrade to a triple you just pay the difference! a goerend valve body is better then a bd and comes with all brand new electronics. bd comes with nothing but a filter and you swap your old electronics over.

you should give goerend a call they wont steer you wrong.
just some feedback you wanted

well before you go send lot of money on a bunch of BD junk. i would look around. i just good built to order single disk converter for $300. works great! and i bought a deep trans pan for $160 on ebay. and bought a custom built vavle body from RevMax converter for $379 + $150 core charge. works great. go check out there web site they have everything you need. and there tec susport is really good. just remember just because it has name brand on it dont mean its any good or a good deal.

$500.00 - 600.00 from a few local places. I plan to get my stuff installed in Sep. after the summer. My original TC does not seem to slip at all, even driving up to our place off Newman Lake. Then again I have been pretty easy on it even with Smarty on #9 . Now that I am beefing up the tranny a bit I wonder if some DDP injectors would be in order .
