Just Bought a diesel got some ???'s

Yesterday I purchased my first diesel a 1999 quadcab, automatic, 4x4, longbed with 154,000mi it has some body damage but I got it for 6,800 and I know it had the tranny rebuilt 25,000 miles ago and was woundering how much horse power the stock torque converter and tranny can handle because I was thinking of getting a programmer?

Your best money to start with will be gauges, especially fuel pressure, but you should get Fuel, Pyro, Boost and trans temp since it's an auto if your looking to BOMB the truck. I know you want power but being able to see what's happening with that power is necessary or expensive things start to happen.

As for the trans I'll let other more experienced members chime in but I'm having no problems with an Edge EZ with my stock 47RE pulling our ~7000 TT up the Rockies.

Good luck.
