Would these need to be pop tested or can you just slap them on and go? Is this a good deal and do you think my tranny could hold the power with my Superchips prog? Right now I can't slip the converter even on stage 3. It's got 148,000 on it so I know I will be needing a new trans before too long anyway. Maybe these will put another nail in the trans. coffin.

 

ive installed several sets. Never pop tested any of them. and they work great. and yes, thats a good price (i bought mine off of ebay too)

 

yes that is a good price, i just installed some 3's this weekend and didnt pop test them, but my previous set had been pop tested an balanced. the idle was the same as before. i cant slip my tranny either but i dont try
it was rebuilt recently though.

 

im getting ready to buy injectors. how hard are these to install yourself?

Alright I've been thinking about this all night and have a few questions. What if I get the old ones out to replace with the new nozzles and my o-rings and washers are bad. Can you replace those? Or do you pretty much have to buy the injectors with the new o-rings on them? I don't want to do my usual screw up on this.

 

they are sooo easy to do. the hardest thing to do on them is #5 and #6. if you need new o-rings you can go to cummins or a dodge dealership and they can get them for you.

 

I have one of Blackdiesel's old sets in my truck. They run good. They smoke a bit and sometimes idle is a little rough, but make a butt load of power. And adding some fuel line mods helped the idle too, so that may not all be the injectors. Sure, I'd like some Mach's, but they are just too expensive. The jammers are good for the money. You won't be dissappointed. And I don't know of any reason you wouldn't be able to replace the o-rings on them. I just took the rings of my stockers and put them on to the new ones since ol' Blackdiesel kept the o-rings! I just took a dental pick, stuck it under the edge, and went around and around and they pop right off. Just put some grease on them so they don't catch something and rip when you are sliding them off the injector. It is really easy.

Ya. I went ahead and pulled the motor lifting eyelet of the back of the block to make more room to work. The wrench slipped and I almost broke my elbow. I cried like a school girl and everyone made fun of me until I started throwing wrenches at them for laughing.

 

Id go with 4s over 3s.

One more thing, can the injector itself go bad or is it just the nozzles that give you problems? I hate to put new nozzles on bad injectors only to have to replace the whole thing anyway. That's normally how my luck goes.

Just thought of something else..man I'm a worry wart. Do the Stage 3 make a lot of smoke. I really don't want it smoke anymore than it is now but I know it will some. Can you play with the programmer to limit/maximize smoke?

 

well jammers are known for their smoke. so if you are worried about smoke don't get jammers.

 

I ran Jammer 4s for a while and they ran really clean. Yes, I could lay a cloud but I could also drive it very clean. I would imagine that 3s would be totally managable.

Yes, the bodies can go bad. I wouldn't worry about it. Most places you buy complete injectors from just put new tips on cores. At least you know where yours have been. You could get a set built with cores that had tons of miles on them.

Yes number 6 is fun to get at. Of all the times I have changes sticks, I always think I am done on #5 because it is back there pretty good too. Then I realize, wow, I still have one more to go .

Would I be better off with RV 275 or the Jammers 3 then. I can get a set of 275's for $275 brand new but I guess they don't have the same power as the Stage 3. Am I right about the power?
