Jake Brake

Has anyone ever tried to incorporate the same type of engine brake found on some of the big rigs into a cummins equiped dodge, instead of those crappy exhaust brakes, the sound is so much sweeter

True Jake brakes bolt on top of the head and operate the valves on top of the rockers, and the valve covers go on top of the Jakes. One jake operates 2 cylinders. These engines do not have jakes designed for them.

Depends on the nuber of heads on the engine. Some operate 3 cylinders at a time.

No one builds a compression brake for an engine smaller than 10L. Other than the swwet sound, the c-brakes have better braking horsepower, too. Even if they existed, you would probably have a ploblem of flat spotting the tires.
