what does it do. keep the turbo from dumping boost? goes on a stock 02 turbo?

 

you are right, it prevents the waste gate from opening up and dumping out the boost of the exhaust. Do you have a box of some sort that has boost fooling capabilities? If not, then do not get one of these. It will cause your truck to defuel if it sees more boost then stock specs, i think around 21 or 22psi. If you have a box of some sort, you can just go to your local hardware store and buy a turnbuckle and put it on, only thing with the turnbuckle is it will keep the wastegate completely shut unless you rig it up with some sort of spring.
