issues after vp44 replacement
While the pump covers are a great idea and keep the connection clean and neat I think that there are some issues with the actual connection between the pin and where the pin is forced into the small hole in the computer. You really have to follow the directions. I think after you feel resistance you have to take the screw in another 3.5 turns. I think there must be an tiny insulating film that the point of the screw must pierce before the connection is good. Really check that procedure. Also, checking the truck with the Smarty did confirm one thing. It sounds like your truck is not fueling with the extra fuel added by tapping the pump. So to me it sounds like you need to recheck the piercing screw. With the keyswitch on you should have battery positive at the pin at the cover on the VP-44. If the voltage you see here is any different (lower) than what the voltage is right across the batteries then your connection may not quite be good enough. Screw it in a bit more.
