Unhappy Help!...Running rough(er) after vp44 replacement today!

I just finished installing my "new" IP a hour ago and after bleeding the lines it started right up and ran rough for 30seconds and then idled nice and smooth........after letting it run for 10 minutes I went to take it down the road and it ran nice for 2 minutes and started to run rough at idle as though it was missing, at hi speeds it seems ok, bu stters a bit getting there. It has an acrid eye burning exhaust smell if you sit and juice it some. I checked and checked for leaks even cleaned it up with degreaser and have not found any evident fuel leaks.

I am at wits end on this........What happens if for some reason the key fell off the shaft on the install...how will the truck run...I hope that is not the case but I am grasping here any ideas guys..?

If the key fell off I don't think it would run. Did you old pump have an electronic or mechanical failure? If mechanical maybe you have some metal shavings in an injector or line?!

I don't see any guages listed in your signature, did you replace the LP as well. This should always be done when replacing the VP44. What's the fuel pressure?
