install new injectors or not???

Just got my new DDP 110's and would love to put them in but I am scared to do that with out a new 62/12 turbo. My question is it safe to install them with the stock turbo? I have a comp box too. I talked to the guys at THE POWERSHOP and they say that it is safe as long as i turn the box down to 1x3 and if i tow put it on 1x1. Is there anybody that runs a comp box with injectors and if so how are your egt's?

Thanks

I say put them in. Just watch your EGT's and when it gets hot, let off the throttle. If it becomes an issue, just swap them for the stockers.

I think your advice is good but I am only 23 yrs old and my ego is bigger than my wallet (no turbo fund). I always have little rice rockets and a buddy with a hemi wanting to race. But i guess we all have to grow up sometime. I think I will put them in next weekend. Thanks

You will just have to scale down your power levels and if you have to tow turn the box off and watch the gauge.

I'd definately keep an eye on egt's since you have the HY-35 turbo. Atleast I'm pretty sure thats what should be on your truck. They have a tighter turbine housing (9cm) vs. the (12cm) HX-35 that came on the 5 and 6spd. trucks.

Thanks for the info. And yes i do have the smaller hy-35 which sucks in my opinion because you cant even put the adjustable elbow in it but i do have the j hook on the wastegate and on level 5x5 i hit 29 lbs of boost. But after i put my Sticks in the built in boost fooler in my box wont hit that high on 1x3 or 1x1 i think it will only hit about 20 or 21 lbs of boost. Tell me if im wrong please. I guess the only way to find out is to try it.

I'm 50 and I still refuse to grow up. Until I got my new turbo, I was running my injectors with my stock turbo. Just watch your egt's. sometimes mine would climb to 1600 or so. I did not keep it there long. You will be fine and have a lot of fun.

I did a "hotshot " yesterday I had to run a 1600# skid about 5 hrs away, and there were a couple of 7* hills about 2-3kms long, I never saw over 900 pre-turbo temps. Even when climbing the hill at WOT! I only have a EZ and 80hp sticks,I added a stiffer spring (home made J hook) to the turbo and I can now get 25-28psi. I have noticed when lugging at lower speeds or short quick WOT runs I can hit 1200* easily, once the turbo builds a bit of boost the EGT's cool down and hold around 900*
Not sure if any of this helps,
add the sticks, just watch the pyro

My truck is the same way. I have 150hp jammer stage 5 injectors with a stock HX35. Sure my truck gets hot on a flat out run around 1600 degrees. But i don't stay in it and no one else is driving my truck either.

Just cruising around my truck stays around 700 to 800. But hammer on it and watch the smoke roll.

If you do put them injectors in just drive around with your box turned all the way down. You can turn it up whenever you want. But the injectors give you a nice hp gain even with the box turned off.

Oh and you won't regret it.

Same here... HX35 and Injectors with Adrenaline. Just watch your EGT's and you can control it until you have the $ for a bigger turbo or better yet... TWINS!!!!

If you don't tow, get them and put them in. Unloaded, its pretty easy to control your temps on an overfueled truck. Stock turbo should be real easy, spools quick. I miss that turbo sometimes.

I do tow often and usually some what heavy loads for work most of the time they range from 6k to 10k there have been a few that are heavier and i overload the trailer but not many. Most trips are local but have made a lot of runs to spokane and back or portland and back.
