Question Injector questions...

Ok, I've been looking at injectors and I'm a bit lost. Got a few questions...

What injectors would you recommend for the mods in my signature?

Do I have to get complete injectors or do the nozzles attach to my stock injectors?

Where's the best place to buy? (Cost & quality)

I know a lot of you are going to say buy the biggest ones there is or so...but I know for sure I can't afford a new turbo or Fass or anything for quite awhile...so I want to go as big as I can right now with what I've got...

Thanks

I think even if you go to something like a Mach 1.6 or Edge stage 1 or 2 you will be pushing your stock lift pump. I would upgrade to a better pump before getting injectors and possible running your VP dry. You don't want to buy injectors then a week later have to buy a injector pump.

For sure get an upgraded lift pump before injectors.

The problem you're going to run into is that your superchips doesn't offer a boost fooling feature. If you put in bigger sticks generally you want to run more boost out of the stock turbo to keep things cool, but without the boost fooler the ecm is going to think the truck is overboosting and will cut power. Also it doesn't sound like you have any gauges set up. I'd want at least a pyro gauge before adding injectors.

Well, the Raptor's on the list, guess maybe it'll move up a notch.

I've got a pyro, and boost gauge, as well as the low fuel pressure light. Right now I can hit 36 lbs of boost, which if I remember is more than stock. Does the Banks chip have a boost fooler?

The time is NOW for a fuel pressure gauge that should be your next mod.
36 is just a little over stock boost and starting into the range of pushing hot air is your waste gate stuck or hooked closed?

Waste gate works fine, it's the Banks Bighead waste gate.

That banks unit must have a boost fooler in it with that pressure if you are not getting any CEL on the dash or de-fueling.
I am a little shocked that the banks waste gate is holding that much pressure usually their stuff tends to be quite conservative i would have expected no more than 30 if it is not stuck and working correctly.

fuel pressure gauge and a lift pump like, fass, ppe( I got a 160gph for 1/2 the price of a fass), airdog, raptor, holy blue, should be first on your list then I would look at Mach injectors. Look at Mach 4's, I think that you could run them with stock turbo and have plenty of room to grow with them. Mach our top of the line quality, and you get what you pay for with them. You can get the jammer nozzoles and put them on your stock bodies, but they are cheaper in price and quality and they will run hotter and dirty. There are guys who run them and love them. Me personaly I want quality over price when it comes to some thing like injectors.

Jammer injectors are great for the money if you buy the nozzles. F1 injectors are absolutely top notch injectors, which you can run on a stock turbo if you are just a daily driver. You need to figure out your end goal is so you can figure out what parts you want. Its more expensive to upgrade, then upgrade again. I'd say get some Mach 4 injectors if you aren't doing any towing.

I bought it a couple years ago with the Banks stuff already on it. This is the only Cummins I've driven that had a boost guage, so I didn't really know what it should be.

I do plan on getting a fuel pressure guage and lift pump, just trying to get things figured out where I want to go with it. I do know I don't plan on a new turbo or anything for a few years at least. I don't tow all the time, but I do need to still be able to tow up to 15000 lbs without a problem...

I was kind of looking at the Mach 1.6's or the Mach 2's, I'm afraid Mach 4's will be a bit much for towing...

As far as the injectors I'll probably go with full sticks, not just the nozzles, just didn't quite know what the difference was... thanks for the advice...

I've been running Mach 2's for over 2yrs with a stock turbo with the gate disabled. 38lbs of boost is the max I have seen. It gets alittle hot towing around 10000 nothing that can't be control with the go pedal. I dyno'ed 355hp/ 807ftlbs with an 2yr old clutch on level 1-4 on the drag comp. I'm just waiting on "santa UPS" for my mach 4's and new turbo. let me know if you are wanting some mach 2's.

Airdogs are on sale right now!
Upgrade the fuel system first then move on to injectors. Gotta get your priorities straight.
