What does it cost on average to install new injectors on a 24v truck? Thanks

 

Around the seattle area, a set costs $200 for installation. I bet I have done upwards of 100 sets for free in my driveway.

Where are ya located?

 

On my 12V I was quoted just under 2 hrs labor. at $85 hr.

 

I'm in Napa, CA. I'm not sure what it takes to install these, getting to the cylinders under the dash, looks like it would be a nightmare.

 

First time it took me 3 hrs by myself. Next time took 90 minutes.

#5 and #6 aren't that bad if you have a 19mm stubby. They're almost impossible without one.

Do it your self. I had never even had the valve cover off any engine I ever owned and I installed mine in 3 hours by my self. Now it takes me about 90 minutes from start to finish including beer breaks.

There is a set of instructions floating around, they are from Diesel Dynamics and are very helpful.

 

This is not all that difficult. You could do it yourself...if you get up towards the seattle area, I would be happy to help.

I'll look at home tonight for a copy of the instructions and get them to ya. I think I kept them.

What all does it take to installing them?
I heard you pull the cover off.
Take the rocker arms off.
And then unbolt something else then pull them out.

Is this kinda correct?

 

no,,,dont pull the rockers loose,,just the injector retainers..

 

Pull the valve cover and air intake housing.

Remove the injector hold down front bolt and remove the hold down, don't touch the rear bolt.

Remove the injector line nut from the injector tube at the head.

Use a screwdriver and pry the injector tube out a half inch or so.

Use a valve cover bolt to thread into the top of the injector and pull it out.

Put the new one in and put it all back together.

 

Will do it for free if you cover travel expenses and a beer
