injector idle problems

Here's the story,

Just put a set of Jammer 3 nozzles on my 02. In short, I love the power! eelout Made my mild mannered ride a beast.

The only problem is the idle! It idles smoother than stock when cold. But once it warms up it idles rather roughly. Not scary rough but annoying rough. About 200rpmor less over idle the roughness disappears. Fuel pressure when warm is around 18psi. The injectors were pop tested before install. I watched the guy do it. One had to be adjusted. They got new seals and O rings. I have all six old copper seals on my dresser.

My question is this: Could a cut/torn O ring cause this? A damaged crossover tube? I was a little rough on one..... The O ring on the crossover tubes perhaps? How do you remove the crossover tubes? Where can I buy crossover tubes? How much do they run?

Thanks for all suggestions.

Jason

I have experienced similar syptoms. My truck has a Hot Rod VP so it is already a bit ratty. I am experiencing some surging when coming into a stop light or stop sign. When there is no load on the engine I get a surge. The nozzles seem to run a little rough, but I have experienced lower exhaust temps and the throttle response is much better.....very noticeable.

I agree pokapotato, my throttle response is crazy now. And my EGT is lower as well. I was on the freeway today doin 95+ with less than 1100 on the pyro.

But that surging is aggrevating me.

Jammers are cheap and work well but are not a quality injector so a rough idle is normal.

Its the jammer nozzles issue. BD sticks also have the same issue. They are cheap sticks. If you want quality bigger sticks buy from DDP or formula. The idle issue drives me crazy. Sometimes the sticks will not even make power and the truck wont increase in rpms and dump tons of smoke.

The jammer series stuff is priced extremely well. I bought the tips installed them on the bodies and then pop tested them, had to shim one of them. It's too bad the idle is rough. I guess it's one of those things where you get what you pay for. They seem to build good power, great throttle response and lower EGT's. Seems like my problems are magnified once the fuel temp reaches about 100F, thats typically when idle and no load engine hunts and surges.

I'm gonna try a couple things. I've noticed that my truck idles around 720rpm now. It used to idle around 800. I'm going to try an APPS reset. And I wish I knew someone around here with a smarty to let me flash my truck with the stock smarty setting.
