I replaced the IP.

Fortunately, I took the trailer out for a short tow on a warm day and got a dead petal just before parking again. Better now than on the long tow home. Hopefully, my dead petal problem is now solved.

 

Just to complete the trouble shooting on this problem, I made the trip home in July and had no problems with the engine. Replacing the IP fixed the problem.
