Talking info on gauges etc

first let me say what a great site this is. i read it all the time. i have a 01.5 ctd and am wanting to put at least a fp gauge on after reading about others comments on how important it is. my 1st question is, where is the best deals for kits? what are your opinions on the best, ease of instalation, appearance and so on. i have installed MBRP 4" stainless exhaust , AFE stage 2 intake, and air bags on the rear axle, as i have a 3500# slide in and pull a fairly heavy boat once in awhile. what would be the next step for increased fuel mileage and power without hurting the auto trans? thanks, i know i'll have more questions in the future.

Welcome. Fill in your signature (in "user cp") this way others can see what kind of truck and mods you have.

I got my set up from www.dieselmanor.com , I found them to be very easy to talk to and they didn't sell me anything I didn't need. You might as well get a EGT gauge while your at it (and Boost or Trans temp or both if you want to get fancy).

Your are looking in the range of about $300.00 for a three gauge set up. If you tow heavy or frequently, if might be wise to get a trans temp gauge (if you have an auto that is).
I have some pics in my gallery that show my 3 gauge set up. My install went as smooth as butter. Check out a few vendors, just make sure that you are getting every single thing you need for the install. When I got my set up, I only had to buy about $13.00 in extra parts from NAPA, and that was just to make it how I wanted it. Other than a few part for my f/p gauge, I got everything included with my kit from Diesel Manor. All connectors, wiring harness, fittings, and related parts along with some amazingly detailed instructions. Color photos and all, the set of instructions they made up are very impressive.

Most of the vendors are going to match the lowest price you can find.

You can also do a search on the topic, there is a VAST amount of information here, if you can't find it through a search of old threads, just ask.
