I believe after much reading that my injectors may be the culprit to my stuttering glasspack sounding exhaust. If anyone else has had proven improvements after removing their 370's or a horror story about them, chime in. Thanks.

The 370's I just put in a 97 180hp truck seem to idle fine and actually clean and make good power

18* timing
AFC & Pump tweaks
Mack Rack Plug
60lb Valve Springs
4k GSK
Moded Overflow

Mine idle fine and do make good power. They smoke when I hit the pedal and the exhaust not sounds great when the RPM's get higher and the engine is spooling the turbo well. Down low, like right after an upshift while going up a hill, it sputters through the exhaust, no change in the motor from what I can tell. I have no performance complaints, only that my exhaust sounds funky, like a straight piped 6.0 in the lower RPM range.

I know my truck used to sound like that when it was straight piped. Sounded great down low, but above 2500 got real raspy. In the end, a muffler fixed that, but thats not my ideal solution.

See, that is what I hear mostly, in the top end it gets raspy, but not mine. Mine does it down low, drives me nuts around town.

Ive got a set of 370's on the way. I currently have a 4" exhaust with a muffler. I will give you an update as soon as I get them and let you know how the exhaust sounds.

Are you getting the timing done before or after? What setting?

Right now its set at 16.5* with a set of 3KGSK's, 0 plate, and a Silver Bullet turbo. I figured I would try it as is, then adjust accordingly. What would your recommendation be?

You should be ok with 16.5*. Let me know how they run when you get them in.
