I don't think it would. How did you get a 315 to fit stock? I've got a 2" kit on my 01 and even 33's rub at full lock. I'm still going to go to 35's when these wear out. Hope an alignment fixes this problem.

If you raise the front 2 more inches, the tire will be pulled back in the wheel well about an inch.
This will cause rubbing on the rear inside of the fender.

You would have to get longer control arms to compensate for the distance the axle gets pulled back.

I have a 5 inch lift and found they rubbed at full lock-and-stuff going into a steep driveway too fast.
This is on a 10 inch rim with 4.5" backspacing, so they do stick out further than most.

My 33's rubbed even when at stock height. Problem is is that they rub right in the middle of the lower control arm. How should I fix that? New wheel?

Yup.
Stock wheel backspacing is in the neighborhood of 6.5 inches.
Aftermarket backspacing is usually between 3.5 and 4.5 inches.
Resulting in the tire being 2-3 inches further from the control arm, no rub there.
But, since the pivot point is also moved more towards the center of the tire, you get the inside fender rub.

Best bet, shy of a full lift kit, is aftermarket wheels, 2 inch coil spacer, and 1-inch longer control arms
(DT of tracbar fame makes a nice set)

I don't think so. I just put on 35" 14.50's without any lift. I have 3/4's of a wheel turn before I rub I think a leveler will make the 35's fit but I don't think 37's will fit.

You got a link for that trac bar? Maybe I'll be asking for new wheels for Christmas. ;D

I don't have DT's site in my favorites here at work,

I think it's something like DTprofab.

Yup, just found it www.dtprofab.com/dodge.htm

Control arms are towards the bottom of the page.
And I mispoke, the DT arms are only 1/2" longer.
Still probably enough.

As to the tire size difference, good question.

How much wider is a 315/75R16 than a 315/70R17?

According to the tire size calculator on Miata.net they are pretty much the same height and width.
The rim size difference is made up with the 75/70.
The 315/75's are actually .2 inches taller than the 315/70's

phox-
they're the same width. 315 is the width in millimeters.

The 3rd gen trucks must have bigger wheelwells, because I've seen 3 or 4 with 315/70R17's and no lift.
