i guess my injectors are small and weak

well i finally have 6th gear back again and got to do some testing tonight.

i just put an HTT manifold on the truck that I ported myself, and removed alot of material so the manifold flows really well. even with 6th gear there to give me "more of a load" than 5th gear was...

i can not, i repeat can not get over 1400* with smarty on 9 and tst on 6. thats 6th gear, on the highway from about 60 mphs, takes just a second or two to start spooling and then it shoots form 5-53psi in the bink of an eye the egt's will go to about 1370-1380 and sit there for about 5-6 seconds until i hit the speed limiter at 117 and the truck defuels.

this silver bullet with the manifold rocks! (or else i need the big mach 8's from F1 to make some power and heat)

no way im keeping what i got, i have a setup now that rocks, it makes good power, i can tow with it, it is very tame when i turn the box down.

even with no TST the silver bullet spools great and its easily drivable everyday.

BTW that ported manifold made my truck LOUD. at WOT now its much louder and deeper than it used to be. also that stock manifold had two nasty cracks in it. glad i got it out of there.

Sweet. I know my 99s sound changed dramaticly when i put the sledpuller on it. It was pretty raspy with the 35 but now its deep and throaty. Vy the enginge it seems to idle normal, but if you stand next to a stack it sounds kinda ruff and lopey or a miss. I keep hearing how a little work on the manifold does quite a bit, i think ill have to take mine off and try to match it to the turbo.

I can't either so maybe my sticks are weak too =P We'll find out next month I do let off before 117, but egts are leveled off long before 100 mph.

Dunno why you keep talking about your sticks like that, I've heard nothing but good things about those sticks.

Glad you got the tranny in. What are you going to do with the old one?

How long did it take you to port it?

about 2 hours with some good die grinding bits.

also, you gotta figure tho you have a step smaller injector and the cam...im on stock cam with the inferior 200hp stick which just make smoke and heat, and my silver bullet keeps me under 1400 no matter how hard I run it. this turbo spools awesome and cools awesome...im really glad i got it instead of twins.

the old tranny is going to get rebuilt and go in the garage as a spare.

Roger that. Sounds like a sweet setup you've got there. Can't wait to see her in action I'm guessing its your buddy with the 7's who says the ddp's make no power?

I would like to point out that the 64 is smaller than your 66 and just a puny little turbine

Never said anything about DDP's not having power, never ran them to say so, just said mine gets real hot still, and either his Silver Bullet cools alot better than my PS66 or my injectors are alot bigger than his. Which their rated a 240 and his are 200's

I guess he just took it the wrong way and wont let it go

i just dont see how 40 more hp from an injector can equate to a 300* EGT rise. especially since you always hear how machs have the latest and best technology to make the most power with the least heat and smoke.

The mach's might be rated at 240hp but they do have a trend of being under rated. Also, maybe the silver bullet is just cooling better on your truck. Or maybe you have a better combination than he does. Or maybe you've got the perfect combination for your truck. Or maybe one of yall's gauges is wrong. One way or another they are both sweet running trucks.

Also, how are you comparing EGT's?? Both in a top gear WOT blast, or from a stop?? The auto never stops fueling, and even though the boost never drops, will make more heat from a stop than a stick truck that is backing out and shifting 3-5 times.

Or maybe he just likes to rip on F1 diesel? One sure way to settle it, is to swap injectors!

I can tell you one thing, I've seen first hand why Don says his injectors have better atomization and run cooler. My truck is at Scheid getting 14mm studs and fire rings. While the head was off the tech. made mention of how clean the piston bowls were. He could wipe the carbon off with a rag. I have 130,000 miles, 75% of those miles have been made with Don's 4.5 injectors in the truck. The cylinder walls were near perfect, the cross hatching was highly visible in all bores with no scoring.

Yeah I dont know my gauge could be off I had problems with it before and switched thermocoupler's and it seemed to clear up, or maybe the SB cools better than the Pros Street 66, it was alot cheaper and suppose to be very comparable to the SB thats why i bought it. + even C-hawk with his old Twin truck with 7's would be way past 1500 by the end of the track. So unless DPP makes some outstanding test results, and records anytime soon i'll stick with my F1's
