HTT Exhaust Manifold
Our manifold will fit all 1st gen and 2nd gen. On 1st you need to replace all of the manifold mounting bolts with shorter ones, they're supplied with the manifold. On 2nd gen and you can mount this on 3rd, if you reposition the turbo, you use your old bolts except for the top 2-center bolts (only shorter bolts fit) and these are supplied w/manifold. Everett
So how in the world are you suppose to mount the heater hose connector tube that runs underneath the manifold? I can tell you right now it does not fit and even if it did, you can no longer use the stock mounting point on the top/back manifold bolt/stud. Nothing pisses me off more than tearing my truck apart to install some new big dollar aftermarket part, only to find out once it's in pieces, that the part does not fit or in this case is going to cause me to drain my cooling system and either fab up a custom bracket or re-route & re-hose the entire line. Not freakin happy right now with HTT!
Read! I have bought one and it's clear that it will require some re-work of the heater core plumbing. I will bash anyone if that's what you want to call it that sells a product that obviously has either not been well thought out or pertinent information not shared prior to the sale, that you have to re-plumb the system to make it work. I would have still bought but I would have had the freakin parts here ahead of time to complete the install. Am I a little torqued off about it? Heck yeah! I would say half the transactions I have been party to while blowing money on my truck have been a pain in the ****. Stuff not delivered as promised in a timely matter, stuff poorly engineered, or just a plain rip off. In this case oops we forgot to mention that you half to drain your cooling system and re-plumb one of the lines to use our manifold. I'm an engineer myself and I lack a little patience for this sort of crap sorry lol.
I'll rag on people when they suck and I'll give them props when they come through or at least try. Everette from HTT sent me an email and we'll talk tomorrow and see what we can come up with. I still don't like unexpected custom fab work to make "bolt on" retail parts work but the customer service of HTT seems encouraging. News at 11
Duke I can understand your position, and I agree with you. But you got to admit in your first post on this thread you came out from left field sounding rather abrasive, for seemingly no reason. Until you explained where you were coming from. Hopefully a amicable solution can be found.
I can definitely become abrasive after crawling around on my motor all morning trying to make something work that is not having any part of it lol. Either I'll have to get rid of the tube and re-plumb it or maybe the older 12V will bolt in. Maybe the next guy will be enlightened by HTT as to what all is involved to install the manifold. They're already ahead of ATS in my book simply by responding to the problem.
