HTB2 and downpipe?

Has anyone installed a HTB2 with the downpipe that High Tech Turbo sells into a 12V auto? I already have the turbo but haven't bought a downpipe yet. I was wondering how much clearance there will be between the downpipe they sell and the heat exchanger, I don't want them rubbing.

Don't know but I was thinking about getting one so let me know how it works out, and how you like it.

Just went out and looked at mine, the heat exchanger is no longer on the truck, since the auto fell out and a shifter grew up though the floor, but the closest the downpipe is to the engine is six inches. That was measured to the block up close to the head;. Hope this helps, maybe you can use this measurement to check yours, goodluck, Darl Absher III

2 questions 1st-Did you get your downpipe from HIGH TECH TURBO? 2nd-Since your truck mods are the same as I'm getting ready to do what was your Tq when you dyno'ed your truck? I see your HP is 395 and thats great "that ROCKS"

Thanks for the info

I got both the HTB2 and downpipe from HTTurbo. Clearance of the downpipe was no problem. You may want to weld on the small stabilizing rod on the pipe after things are in place or could go without. I've got 3+ months on mine without problems. I did have to modify the exhaust a bit as I had already installed another after market exhaust. Nothing you couldn't handle if you're doing all the rest yourself. Now the clearance on the oil return pipe from the turbo did test my patience a bit. PM if you have any questions. Paul

masonic-dodge, after I posted I remembered the down pipe actually came from bully dog. HTT was still trying to get theirs right, they felt bad after haveing me wait allmost two weeks for theirs and had one drop shipped from bully dog.

About the Tq, the day of the dyno I was short on cash and opted not to get a Tq reading, it was ten or fifthteen dollars cheaper. Darl Absher III

found this in the general diesel thread.

"Horsepower = torque x rpm divided by 5252"

so reorganize and you have (Horsepower x 5252)/RPM=torque.

If you have the HP graph plug in some RPM numbers and the corresponding HP and you can find a general peak. Of course if you don't have a dyno sheet,,,that won't help. Anyways thought I'd mention it.
