Thumbs up Drag Comp and HTB2 are in!

I installed a Drag Comp and new gauges today. It's a good improvement over the Banks Big Hoss system. I like the adjustability of the comp. It's nice to be able to cruise around on 1x1, and keep the smoke to a minimum. Then crank it to 4 or 5 when messing around. The smoke will roll thick on command, but clears up pretty good once the HTB2 spools and makes boost. The spool up is WAY better with the comp and HTB2 than it was with the Big Hoss and HX35. I'm pretty happy but I wonder if it will Dyno above 400? The power is defenintly more than before when I dyno'd 330/782. Im not sure it's 100 more though? What should my combo dyno now? I thought it should be about 430 or so? My clutch may not be helping, but it doesn't feel like it's slipping. what would a slipping clutch feel like? Overall the Comp and HTB2 are a killer package! I'm happy, we'll see what it was worth come dyno day.

If the clutch is slipping your rpm's will go up but your speedometer wont. You would probably only have a problem in 6th, so the next time you are on the highway put your right foot down and watch the tach and speedo.

Yah, much less lag with box on 3,4,5. It'll hit 38lbs like that!

If your not hitting 450 I'll be surprised. My roommate put down 382hp/899tq with a drag comp, hx35, and Mach 1.5s.

I hope it will dyno over 400. I'll find out in October at Imlers. I like the drag mod as it pulls harder after 2700.

12cm, hottest egt's have got so far is 1200 that was a 5x5 run. This turbo sure keeps egt's down. Spool is very quick with box on setting 3 or up.

I'm assuming the 1200* max is not sustained WOT? I would expect you to be able to peg your EGT gauge with a Drag Comp & DD3's...if you hold the throttle to the floor??

Like I said 'so far'. That was a fifth gear run on 5x5, pedal to the floor but only for 3-4 seconds. With the HX35 I was about 1450 doing the same thing.

Just checking...and no offense intended. I think the HTB2 is a great turbo....just never seen a Drag Comp that couldn't send EGT's to the peg on a single turbo...with maybe the exception of a Steroid B-1 or a HX-55. Maybe a sledpuller 66.

Wanted to be sure I wasn't misunderstanding what you were saying.

Enjoy your new turbo...have not heard a single bad thing about them.

I picked up 30 hp with DD2's and a TST PM3 when I first went to my KSB-1 from stock, . You may do better with the DD3's....and the stock clutch probable cost you hp on your last dyno.
