I've read its not worth it if it you have a box that taps the wire. The power gain is minimal for the amount of money spent (though I couln't tell you the exact #). I've also read that higher numbers on dynos have been reached with the SO compared to HRVP's (which use a combination of HO and SO parts). I'm sure someone will chime in from first hand knowledge. Once again this is ONLY from what I've read.

If it were me I would stick with an SO pump and use the extra money to put towards a good set of EDM injectors to make the extra power with.

Ditto!
When adding power, other than injectors, Adjustability is always prefered. Don't saddle yourself with full time heavy low end fueling........ especially when the HRVP does no better than several boxes out there.
A set of F-1 injectors, with the money you save will put you way ahead of the power game!

I don't know what the deal is with these pumps but I have talked to 2 different people about them, the monster pumps that is not the HRVP. they both told me how awesome they are , but when I got serious about buying one and asked questions about power and reliability and how it would compare with a p-pump conversion, they both just disappeared and wouldn't talk to me any more. I am not saying they wont work I just would be scared after this experience and I am sure you couldn't find any help after you bought one and had trouble I have chosen to p-pump instead

I would say the swap depends on what you want to do with the truck, if I were driving mine on the road alot I would stick with the VP-44 and the chips, I am doing the p-7100 for all out truck pulling and the truck rides around on a trailer.
