Decision on HRVP44

I have been searching the threads for info on HRVP44. Lots of good stuff. I've got 112k on my original but code 0216 has raised its ugly head. All units seem to be about the same except the core charge for Bluechip is a little high. Which would you guys think is the best, Industrial Injection, Diesel Dynamics, Sheid? Do we have any information on longevity? I'll have to make a decision soon. Any words of wisdom would be great.

Regards,
Gene

I bought the II version from performance diesel warehouse and it is awesome. Truck runs very smooth and I have a good amount more low-mid power. Top end must be higher too...since the swap I gained 2-3 lbs of boost wot

I just purchased an Industrial Injection HR pump too.
I don't thimk the HRs have been out long enough to determine a "longevity factor" yet, but from the discussion on other fourms that I have seen/read, the II pump seems to be the favorite.
Very happy with the driveability using my Comp in an EZ mode and stock injectors.

Thanks for the input guys. Shovelhead I think you were at Performance the first time I called Doug. I had mentioned your thread and he said you were in the warehouse. This was just after yours died. I will probably order the HRVP44 tomorrow. Thanks again

Gene

I did all my dealings with Doug over the phone.
And I R&R'ed my pump on the curb in front of my house.
He has done several pump swaps in the last few weeks so he might have got his names crossed up....

Other than diss'ing a product that several folks have researched, purchased, installed, driven, and commented on.....that was a pretty useless post.

Scheid Diesel builds a very impressive HRVP. I've got one. I'm going to try to get on the dyno to verify numbers soon. Here are my impressions. My HRVP fuels very, very hard. In fact, on levels 4-9 on the TST Comp, streetability suffers. With my application the truck lopes like a heavily cammed gasser. Under load it runs smooth. Once there is little or no load on the engine it starts to lope again. If you rev it in gear such as building rpm for a sledpull, it pops and crackles. I like it, but it may not be for everyone. Of course results may vary because not all HRVP's use the same components

BTW, how's it goin' Bill? I was up to Terre Haute today.

Thanks, that was much more better.
I saw over on another site where someone stated that the Scheid's HR pump fueled so hard and heavy as to make it basically un-streetable.

I drive mine on the street everyday. The regular HRVP should do a great job. I haven't heard from anyone on the contrary personally. I think HRVP's get a bad rap from some people who claim a power loss versus a standard vp. I can't speak for an ETC motor, but it's not my experience on my ETH. Also, relatively few people run the TST or BlueChip boxes as compared with Edge Comps. My personal opinion is that the Edge's timing is causing the problem for some. I ran an EZ stack with my old VP. With this HRVP, I didn't care for the way it ran. Just a thought....
