How to use Edge comp?

Sounds like a stupid question, but I guess I'm not sure on how to use all the levels. I guess specifically the low boost fueling modes. The guys I got it from simply said he runs it always on 5x5. Are the low boost fueling modes more for towing? (don't do much towing) I've got the wire tapped and have NOT had any tranny work done yet, so I'm a little skittish on the go pedal. I haven't notice any huge amounts of smoke, but I'm always drivin' and never see any.Any good tips on how to best utilize the Comp would be appreciated. Oh yea, I checked the edge web site and it had some good info on the comp settings.

If your tranny is stock and you have the wire tapped I would not run the comp on anything more than level 2. You will smoke the tranny. The low boost fueling modes are mainly used for smoke control. I just set them up 1x1, 2x2, 3x3, 4x4, 5x5.

I drive around on 3x4......I like that setting best....I notice a difference between sub level 3 and 4 when comes to responsiveness but you do get a touch more smoke down low - I just can't give up that extra little punch down low. When it is time to really drop them hammer, it goes directly to 5x5. I only seem to use 3x4 and 5x5 anymore. I think I used main level 1 and 2 for about a day!!

the main levels are basically the power setting... 40, 60 and so on.
the sub levels are for smoke control and responsiveness... sub levels 1, 2 and 3 will de-fuel to control smoke. levels 4 and 5 will pour it to the coals.

I'd run it on something less than 5x5 with a stock automatic...

I have a question. It seems my truck got alot better mileage towing before I tapped the wire.I never really checked it before but just looking at the gauge it seems to use more fuel now.I have been driving the same and not raggin' on it so I don't know what's up.Has more power, but worse mileage.I have been running it on sub level 5 and main level 3 when towing.Whats the deal with the mileage?

I'd guess the sub level 5 is the problem. Turn it down to 2-3 and try it.

I know, it is tough to go down on power!!!
Best mileage is usually with less fuel. More fuel is more power.

ive had my box and run level 3 4 and 5 alot, 5 usually at the track and for short peirods of time, and ive had it about a year and my converter is just now slipping. so yes it will toast your converter first. so be carefull, you should be good running around on level 3
