How much LOUDER is a 5" straight pipe with a 6" tip?

Ok guys, I'm in the market for a tip again. I'm currently running a 5" straight pipe and loving it. It took me a week to get used to the sound. At first I thought it was too loud but now I really like it. Now here's my dilemma. If I get a 6" tip that's 12" long, how much louder will my exhaust be? Deeper sound is good, but I don't want it to be noticably louder. It's plenty loud right now and with the camper I just got, I might even end up putting a muffler on if the drone is too bad. I had a 5"x6"x18" tip, which I sold because it was too long. I have my tailpipe sticking out parallel to the rear side fender so I have to go 12" for it to sit nicely, unless I wanna have it sticking out 4 feet like a dellion.

My options are:

1) 5" angle cut
2) 5" double wall
3) 6" angle cut

I'd like to do a 6" but I'm considering the noise level first.

I have a 6 inch silverline tip on my truck that i got from Scheid Diesel. I don't think that the noise level went up any but the looks factor did, not many people around me running a 5in exhaust with a 6in tip. I would go with the silverline tip I got mine for under 50 bucks.

Mine didn't really get any louder when I put on my 6x22 in tip on my 5in exhaust, but it does sound good!

I gotta 5" with 6" tip. Ran for 20k without tip. Have had tip on for last 10k. Its not any louder, but the sound has changed very slightly. Little deeper, but not a heck of alot. I got it to try to keep soot of the box side. And it looks cool. Bret

a 6 inch tip wont change the noise lever but it will make the tone just a little bit deeper. Thats what I noticed anyways.

how loud?

look at my photo gallery, i run five inch straight to a six inch tip infront of the right rear tire.. its pretty managable if you are easy on it, but u will know that it is there from 1700-2100 rpms, especially if you romp on it, night and day difference over stock soundwise, ull love it..

i added a 4 inch tip to my stock strait pipes and it was noticeably louder and deeper, a bigger tip acts like a megaphone
