How to make more HP without dumping excessive fuel.
How to make more HP without dumping excessive fuel.
Alright guys. I was all into having smoke rollin out the pipe. but now i jus want more power and less smoke..smoke means fuel thats not burning. I still wont mind some smoke..but im wanting to get in the 500-600 hp range..Any good ideas?
VP44 injection pump, injectors, injector lines, comp box, compound turbos, fully built transmission (auto), DD clutch(manual), gauges-boost, pyro, transmission temp(auto), fuel pressure, bigger lift pump, head studs, to name a few parts.
alot of people just throw alot of fuel and air into in and accept the world. but you need to find a happy medium. if your billowing smoke your choking up the charger. then since you have enough air you may need to increase or even back off the fuel. basiclly just playing around with different settings
"Tuning" on a 24V truck is a myth. It implies that you can do things like you can on a 12V, but you can't.
What adjustments does a 24V guy have? Which power level to run? A wastegate setting?
To me, "tuning" is adjusting performance with a given set of components. Swapping turbine housings isn't tuning, it's packaging.
Until someone develops something like EFI LIVE for a 24V, the "tuning" on a 24V is laughably limited.
If someone wants to see what REAL tuning can do, check out the operator's guide for an engine management system like the F.A.S.T. XFI system. When you are plugging numbers into tables and adjusting duty cycles, injector trims, timing curves, etc-- *that* is when you are really tuning an electronically controlled engine.
..Just like you would tune a 12V with different plate positions, timing, AFC settings, DVs, etc.

Quality parts will go a long way to helping a truck perform well with out lots of smoke. Injectors are probably the best example. Something like F1 or DDP injectors will produce more power with less smoke than a cheaper injector like the Jammers.
