Bottom end is stock with almost 230k miles on it. Its actually pretty streetable if you can keep your foot out of it. It spools real good from a stop actually. He was running a Sled Puller 68 turbo, and it didnt have as much power, but it spooled better. I think with some 191's, a tuned AFC housing, and something like that 68mm charger he had on it, it would be pretty streetable if you wanted to stick with a single. I drove it to work for a couple of weeks while mine was down, and it did just fine. The only thing i had to watch was rolling into it in overdrive. There is video of it on the net if you'd like for me to get you a link. But if you could go with twins, that would really be a sweet setup for daily driving.

i know that 600 should not be that streetable with a single either but that is what i was shooting for. its hard to say where my truck is at but i was thinking low 500s with fuel and close to 600 with the stage 2 meth 50/50. theres not any dyno machines in alaska that i know of so i guess i will have to keep wondering. but regardless of the hp#s the setup i have makes power and its fast. the only thing i would recomed is to stick with 191 dv. i think the lazer cuts are too much unless your moving some serious air. oh yea and i also should be gettin an o ringed head in the mail soon.

how good is a stock lower end for that kind of power? I have a 94 dodge along with a 97 and the 97 is good for what i do with it but the 94 im looking for 500HP-600hp that i can still drive. here is the catch the truck is almost stock and has been for all 275,000 miles. you guys think im going to have problems with it if i do a head, twins, tranny, and fuel system?

also what have you guys seen with gearing in axles VS power? i have a 7inch lift on 37's with 3.55's and its a little bit slow off the line but not bad for being almost stock, just a ground fuel plate and tranny lock up. would it be worth it to run a 4:10? or with that much power just leave it?

also the oil i know when u do modds you should be changin your oil alot more and i've heard when you start rollin on the power you want to not run syth. oil and swap back to cov. oil..... my dodge has has dual AMS oil filters run in it from the day it came off the show room floor and the guy i bought it from was 50 when he bought it new so its had an easy life untill my hands got it, will the oil be a problem i should be worried about?

and one last thing, crate motors? i think PDI has them? anyone know anything about them?

thanks.

The problem with synthetic oil is that it does not suspend soot and just deposits it wherever it can, like bearings and other wear areas in turbos etc. If synthetic oil could suspend soot like conventional oil, it would be superior for High Performance applications.

However, since you have a bypass system that I assume cleans up the soot, run whatever oil you can afford. FYI used conventional oil seems to burn better in the tank better than used synthetic. Another reason to run dino oil i guess.

The truck

It has a 7 inch bull hauler stack on it now/in the vids. It smokes a little

This was the Richmond, Ky pull. He got 1st place at that pull, and I personally drove the truck there myself with the blocks, and weight all on/in it. Took 1st, and drove it home.

This is Harrodsburg, Ky. It was drove to and from this pull too. Took 1st again.

As you can see, it no where near cleans up the smoke. For a street driver, I would put 191's in it, tune the AFC(its gutted), and call it good. The 191's should clear up a lot and not lose much power at all, and the AFC would help keep it cleaner on the low end of things. Its a pulling rig though, so smoke is not a problem He is running the SPS68 both of these pulls. It spools a little faster than the hx55, but it doesent clear up the smoke, or pull as hard. It might be a better daily driver charger, but the HX55 is better for pulling. A full billett goerend 47re puts the power to the ground. The pump is the factory 180, and has never been to a shop to be flowed. It has a new factory lift pump on it, and a cheap fuel pressure regulator set at 40psi.
