Question How to Choose the Proper Injector Size ?

I've haven't yet seen any Write Ups or How-Tos on choosing the proper Injector size for Bombing a CTD.

I believe I read somewhere that the OEM 98- 12V 215 HP Injectors were good for upwards of 400HP. Is this correct ??

Can someone please shed some light on this issue ??

You can take the 215's , have them honed, and they will put out an incredible amount of fuel. I would say up to 450 HP. The spray pattern just fits our pistons.

U can have

the 215's honed, but you can also buy 370's for cheap and gain about 60 or so horses. Not a bad bang and they seem to be a good upgrade.

I see that you run a truck like mine, i like ur dyno dumbers, whats ur timing set at? I think i have similar numbers to ur, only xceptions, i have straight pipe, a 4K kit, and a 100

I agree, but my point is the 215's fit our pistons and the 370's are made for the larger bowl.

The truck I ran was a 2500, 370's, no plate and the timing at 26*. We set timing here as to the sound of the engine. The "pro" style just is to much trouble and not as responsive. We build um to race, but still work on the street. Let's put it another way. People we race again'st, sets their timing the other way, but our resuts speaks for itself. 3 of our trucks was at the finals in the Houston, DHRA event. 1st, second, and fourth. It works for us.

PS: It also had a spring kit and a few other tweaks Jeff does. It dyno'ed at 448 HP.

I talked with a Sales Rep this AM that said 370s are real smokey because they have (3) openings.

I assume this is in the tip of the nozzel correct ??

Can someone expand on the significance of this ??

Roger that. I've seriously considered those.

www.CityDiesel.com has the 300s for $275 and the 370s for $300. I talked with a Sales Rep from there this AM and he said the 370s should give and additional 40-50 HP over the 300s.

I'm going to go ahead and order a set of 370s for the extra $25!! Where else can you get 40-50 HP for $25 ?!?!?!
